Bank Shot: Angle Golf

A mini golf game where every hole opens with a bank-shot angle problem: the wall's known angle is shown, you solve for its complementary or supplementary partner angle, then drag from the ball to aim and set power. A correct answer sends the ball exactly where you aimed; a wrong answer deflects the shot by your own error. Teaching Notes for Educators

Bank Shot: Angle Golf ties complementary and supplementary angle pairs to the one shot every mini golf hole is built around: banking the ball off a wall. Every hole opens with the wall's known angle marked in a small diagram - students solve for the angle that completes the 90° or 180° pair, then physically aim and strike the ball themselves.

The math has a real, visible consequence. A correct answer sends the ball exactly where the student aimed it; an incorrect one deflects the shot by the size of their own error - a small mistake is a small miss, a big one sends the ball wildly off course. Right and wrong aren't just checkmarks, they're the difference between sinking the putt and chasing the ball into the rough.
Two full 9-hole modes. Golf Gamer (easy) eases from multiples of 10 into multiples of 5 and finally any angle by the back nine. Hole-In-One Hero (hard) starts with arbitrary angles immediately and adds a 10-second clock from hole 4 on - miss the buzzer and the ball goes for a wild, entertaining ride that lands it only a little worse off than where it started, not a run-ending penalty.
Algebra folded into the back nine. Hole-In-One Hero's final three holes give the wall's angle as an expression like (2x + 10)° with x provided, so students evaluate the expression before they can even start the angle-pair math.
A real physics course, not just a diagram. Hills roll the ball, water currents push it, bushes block it, and every wall - not just the puzzle wall - reflects it realistically, so the angle concept lives inside an actual playable golf hole instead of a static picture.
A new random course every round. Each playthrough randomly selects one of the game's themed 9-hole courses, keeping repeat play visually fresh without changing the underlying math.
Low-stakes. No accounts, no permanent record of a bad round - just line up the next shot.
